Example figures. The full reports live in your own Xero.
Xero is only as good as the bank rules and the reconciliation behind it.
A few rushed "OK" clicks on the reconcile screen and the VAT figure is wrong, the suspense account fills up, and the year-end accountant starts sending questions.
We reconcile every account properly each month, so the numbers you submit are numbers you can stand behind.
"There are 600 items waiting on the reconcile screen."Bank reconciliation
"I'm not sure the VAT return is right."VAT · MTD
"Receipts are in Dext but nothing matches."Receipt capture
"Card terminal payouts never agree with sales."Clearing accounts
"My accountant does the year-end and the bookkeeping is a mess."Year-end
Monthly Xero bookkeeping, finished on the date we agree.
Bank reconciliation
Every bank, card and loan account reconciled in Xero and checked against its statement balance, not just cleared from the screen.
Bank rules that work
Rules built and pruned so routine transactions code themselves correctly and odd ones still come to a person.
Dext and Hubdoc
Receipts and bills published from Dext or Hubdoc and matched to the bank line, so every cost has its paperwork.
VAT returns prepared
VAT codes checked line by line and the return prepared in Xero for your review before you or your accountant submit it through MTD.
MTD for Income Tax updates
For sole traders and landlords in scope, quarterly records kept current and ready for each update.
Reports with a note
Profit and loss, balance sheet and a five-line note on what changed, delivered on your close date.
MTD for Income Tax has started. Quarterly updates need quarterly bookkeeping.
From 6 April 2026, sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 keep digital records and send HMRC an update every quarter. The threshold drops to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028.
Next quarterly update deadline: 7 February.
The fourth update, for the quarter to 5 April, is due 7 May. VAT-registered businesses already keep VAT records under MTD for VAT. We keep your Xero current every month, so each update is a review, not a scramble.
